Basketball Game Preview: Wittenberg-Birnamwood Chargers vs. Manawa Wolves

Wittenberg-Birnamwood is 9-1 against Manawa since February of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Chargers will look to defend their home court against the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Wittenberg-Birnamwood knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Manawa likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, Wittenberg-Birnamwood humbled Wausau West with a 69-29 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-12.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood had a senior duo take command as Rory Salvesen shot 47% from the field en route to 17 points in addition to seven steals and six assists and Melaina Granquist dropped a double-double with 22 points and 16 boards. Granquist's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Harper Rogowski, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 13 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Manawa ended up a good deal behind Wild Rose last Thursday and lost 47-32.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Manawa, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Everything came up roses for Wittenberg-Birnamwood against Manawa in their previous meeting back in January, as the team secured a 66-31 victory. Do the Chargers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
