Volleyball Recap: O'gorman Beats Lincoln for Their Eighth Straight Victory

While O'Gorman's victory against Lincoln wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Knights skirted past the Patriots 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won eight contests in a row.

O'Gorman had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 23-25, 25-21, 25-23, 15-13.

Julia Blom and Hayden Kok certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Blom had 14 digs and two assists, while Kok had eight digs. Blom has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last eight times she's played.

O'Gorman's victory bumped their record up to 19-4. As for Lincoln, their loss ended a seven-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-5.

O'Gorman and Lincoln should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps South Dakota Rankings. The Knights will square off against Pierre T.F. Riggs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (2 vs. 71). Meanwhile, Lincoln (ranked sixth) will meet Roosevelt (ranked 80th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
