Softball Recap: Kalamazoo Christian Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

While Kalamazoo Christian's win against Constantine wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Comets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Falcons on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Comets in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won eight in a row.

Carien Ybema spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kalamazoo Christian's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Reese Gernaat, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Kalamazoo Christian's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games.
