Basketball Game Preview: Mead Mavericks vs. Broomfield Eagles

Mead has won nine straight games at home, while Broomfield has won nine straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Mead Mavericks will host the Broomfield Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Mead is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Centaurus: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Mead blew Centaurus out of the water with a 64-28 final score. The win continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won six in a row.

Caroline Kron was her usual excellent self, going 7-for-9 to rack up 17 points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Maddy Wright was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to seven steals and five boards.

Mead was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Centaurus only racked up two assists.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Broomfield against Legacy on Friday as the squad secured a 54-18 victory. With the Eagles ahead 39-6 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Mead's win bumped their record up to 19-2. As for Broomfield, their victory bumped their record up to 20-1.
