Wyatt Bond Dazzles in Lamar Loss
Starting off the list is Lamar's Wyatt Bond, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Bond rushed for 63 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 193 yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.
If history really does repeat itself, Bond might just drop another big game when he faces off against East Rankin Academy on Friday. Bond threw for 203 yards and four touchdowns while completing 88.2% of his passes the last time he and the Patriots duked it out back in October of 2023.

He also hauled in two receiving touchdowns, which is notable because Leake Academy is 5-1 when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.
The victory (which was Leake Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 6-3. Weaver and Leake Academy will welcome Simpson Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
