Baseball Recap: Brookfield Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

Brookfield won the last time they faced Holy Cross and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bobcats came out on top against the Crusaders by a score of 7-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bobcats.

Jack Murray tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, PJ Colla was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Connor Jordan, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Brookfield's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.9 runs over those games. As for Holy Cross, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Brookfield will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Shepaug Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Holy Cross, they will take on Waterbury Career Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
