Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Mountain Grove challenged Houston on Thursday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won nine in a row.

The victory didn't come easy: Houston scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-18, 25-22.

Mountain Grove's win bumped their record up to 4-8-1. As for Ava, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9-2.
