Volleyball Recap: Murray County Indians vs. LaFayette Ramblers
Murray County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the LaFayette Ramblers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Ramblers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on August 12th.
The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-10.
Murray County's offense was headlined by Kaydence Moses and Aubrie Stevenson, who picked up three kills apiece. They were helped by Gissele Chavez and Josie Jones, who contributed two assists each.
Jaslyn Capello was the offensive standout of the match as she had five aces and three digs. That's the most aces she has posted since back in October of 2024.
Murray County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for LaFayette, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Murray County and Pickens will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for LaFayette, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Northwest Whitfield at 5:00 p.m.
