Winfield is a perfect 10-0 against Sulligent since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Pirates will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. Winfield is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Winfield saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 5-1 to Brookwood.

Sulligent never got on the board in their matchup last Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Fayette County on Thursday. They walked away with a 12-7 win over the Tigers. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.

Addison Heath was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits. Heath was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Aubree Flynn was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Presley Knight, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and two doubles.

Sulligent's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Winfield, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Winfield came out on top in a nail-biter against Sulligent when the teams last played back in April of 2025, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
