Football Recap: East Rowan Comes Up Short

East Rowan lost against Jay M. Robinson back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mustangs had to suffer through a 63-7 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 339th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 39th).

Aury Greenfield was his usual excellent self, throwing for 225 yards and three TDs on perfect 12-for-12 passing, while also punching in one score on the ground for Jay M. Robinson. What's more, Greenfield racked up 177.1 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Antonio Howie, who picked up 85 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

This is the second loss in a row for East Rowan and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Jay M. Robinson, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

East Rowan has already played their next game, a 35-7 defeat against Northwest Cabarrus on the 26th. As for Jay M. Robinson, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 14-0 win against Salisbury on the 26th.
