Elkhart took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Holcomb, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Elkhart sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over Holcomb on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Longhorns on Tuesday, they had to take a 18-10 loss.

The win got Elkhart back to even at 1-1. As for Holcomb, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Looking ahead, Elkhart will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Sublette at 4:00 p.m. This will be Elkhart's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Holcomb, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Spearville at 4:00 p.m. on April 21.
