Softball Recap: Riverside Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Hurricane

Riverside faced Hurricane in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Warriors took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Redskins. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Redskins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on April 10th.

Riverside's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Hurricane, their victory bumped their record up to 20-3.

Coming up, Riverside is taking a road trip to square off against Hoover at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Huskies' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hurricane, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 1-0 defeat against Cabell Midland on the 30th.
