Basketball Recap: Wheeler County Comes Up Short

Wheeler County lost against Treutlen back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wheeler County Bulldogs were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to the Treutlen Vikings. The Bulldogs were up 48-34 in the third quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Wheeler County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Nikita James, who posted 20 points. That was a full 34.5% of Wheeler County's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Elia Delgado, who had 13 points.

Wheeler County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Treutlen, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

As of now, neither Wheeler County nor Treutlen have any future games scheduled.
