Soccer Recap: DeKalb County Comes Up Short

DeKalb County lost to Cumberland County back in April of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Tigers came up short against the Jets, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, DeKalb County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while Cumberland County are ranked 52nd).

DeKalb County has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Cumberland County, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. DeKalb County is set to face off against their familiar foe Watertown at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Cumberland County will square off against rival Stone Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
