Softball Recap: Laker Lakers vs. Bad Axe Hatchets
After losing to Bad Axe the last time they met, Laker decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lakers came out on top against the Hatchets by a score of 11-7 on Thursday.
Lydia Smith 2028 was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off 13 hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Braylynn Witt 2027, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those doubles were her first of the season. Ellee Armbruster 2028 was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
