Basketball Game Preview: Browne Bruins vs. South Mountain Jaguars

The Browne Bruins just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the South Mountain Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Browne is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 84-54 loss at the hands of Cesar Chavez. While losing is never fun, the Bruins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Champions are ranked 62nd).

Meanwhile, South Mountain came up short against Camelback on Thursday, falling 101-79. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (68), the Jaguars still had to take the loss.

Browne's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for South Mountain, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.

Browne took their victory against South Mountain when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 76-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Browne since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
