Softball Recap: St. Michaels Gets the Win

St. Michaels took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Cambridge-South Dorchester, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. St. Michaels came out on top in a nail-biter against Cambridge-South Dorchester on Monday, sneaking past 11-9. With that victory, the Saints brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Lola Browning, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Kaelyn Hicks was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

Browning wasn't the only one working in the hit department: St. Michaels kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matchups.

St. Michaels now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Cambridge-South Dorchester, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
