Softball Preview: Mishicot Indians vs. Random Lake Rams

The Mishicot Indians will look to defend their home field on Monday against the Random Lake Rams at 5:00 p.m. Mishicot will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

In what's become a running theme this season, Mishicot gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They never let Oostburg onto the board and left with a 15-0 victory. 15 seems to be a good number for Mishicot as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Cora Stodola was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Stodola has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive pitching appearances. Stodola was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Mishicot got a massive performance out of Katelyn Callahan, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-2. Callahan is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Cora Nelson, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Random Lake's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brillion.

Mishicot's victory was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-0. As for Random Lake, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4.
