Basketball Recap: Rockwood Takes a Loss

Rockwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 23rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Tussey Mountain Titans 83-48. The Rockets lost against the Titans in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 47-38 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Rockwood lost, don't look at Zander Ritenour. Despite the final result, he went 12 for 28 on his way to 35 points and five boards. The dominant performance gave Ritenour a new career-high in points. Garrison Hale also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Gavin Hall was his usual excellent self, putting up 32 points for Tussey Mountain. Another player making a difference was Keegan Traxler, who posted 15 points.

Rockwood's loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Tussey Mountain, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-10.

Rockwood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 91-56 defeat against Berlin Brothersvalley on the 31st. As for Tussey Mountain, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 58-56 win against Southern Huntingdon County on the 31st.
