Preview: Cloverdale Clovers vs. Parke Heritage Wolves
Cloverdale has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Parke Heritage Wolves at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Cloverdale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 398th, while Parke Heritage is ranked 107th).
Cloverdale suffered their biggest defeat since December 8, 2023 on Friday. They were dealt a 62-30 loss at the hands of Cascade.
Meanwhile, Parke Heritage entered their tilt with Covington with ten consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 11. Parke Heritage took their matchup at home on Thursday with ease, bagging a 64-23 win over Covington. Parke Heritage has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matchups by 22 points or more this season.
Parke Heritage's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Catherine O'Brien, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that O'Brien scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addilee Jenkins, who scored 15 points along with five assists and two steals.
Cloverdale bumped their record down to 2-17 with that loss, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Parke Heritage, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.
Cloverdale was taken down by Parke Heritage 62-26 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Cloverdale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
