Softball Recap: Jackson Center Comes Up Short

Jackson Center was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 6-1 to the Botkins Trojans. Tigers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Trojans since Monday.

Ava Butcher spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Jackson Center's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Botkins, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Jackson Center didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 23-2 loss against New Bremen on the 17th. As for Botkins, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-4 victory against Indian Lake on the 14th.
