Baseball Game Preview: Perryton Rangers vs. Borger Bulldogs

Perryton is a perfect 10-0 against Borger since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Perryton will host Borger at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Perryton and Hereford, and Hereford kept the tradition alive. Perryton fell 8-3 to Hereford on Friday.

Avaun Garcia was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Perryton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Carranza, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Marco Najera also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Borger was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 14-0 to Canyon.

Perryton dropped their record down to 5-11 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Borger, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Everything went Perryton's way against Borger in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Perryton made off with a 10-1 victory. Will Perryton repeat their success, or does Borger has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
