Soccer Game Preview: Cristo Rey vs. Richmond Christian

The Cristo Rey Royals are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge the Richmond Christian Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Cristo Rey's offense. They lost 7-0 to St. Margaret's on Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that Cristo Rey have lost by exactly seven goals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Richmond Christian). They blew past Guardian Christian Academy 5-1 on Thursday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Richmond Christian considering their one-goal performance the matchup before.

The win got Richmond Christian back to even at 2-2. As for Cristo Rey, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Cristo Rey might still be hurting after the 9-0 loss they got from Richmond Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Cristo Rey avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
