Recap: Waverly Bulldogs vs. Tescott Trojans
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Waverly Bulldogs can now relate to. They took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tescott on Friday. Waverly's loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Tescott's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carter Peters led the charge by rushing for 73 yards and two touchdowns, while also picking up 60 receiving yards. Dawson Lee also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Waverly's defeat dropped their record down to 7-1. As for Tescott, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Waverly does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Tescott will face off against Cunningham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cunningham has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 519 points over their last nine games.
