Lydia Berent spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.
Calvary Christian Academy hadn't beaten American Heritage on the road since April 24, 2015 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. The Eagles blew past the Stallions 17-7. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by ten runs or more this season.
Reese Mittauer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single hit while striking out eight over 4.1 innings pitched. Mittauer was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Calvary Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Sofia Fine, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Parker Lee, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
