Basketball Recap: Roosevelt Takes a Loss

Roosevelt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 22nd straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 54-41 to the Carlson Marauders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 74-24 back in December of 2024.

Matt MacBride went supernova for Carlson, putting up 21 points and six rebounds. Those six boards gave MacBride a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Austin Saavedra, who posted seven points and six rebounds.

Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Carlson, their record is now 8-9.

Looking ahead, Roosevelt will head out on the road to square off against Woodhaven at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Carlson, they will welcome Flat Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Flat Rock knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Carlson likes a good challenge.
