Volleyball Recap: Seymour Comes Up Short

After flying high against Laquey on Thursday, Seymour came back down to earth. The Tigers came up short against the Pleasant Hope Pirates on Friday, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-8, 25-18, 25-13.

When it comes to explaining why Seymour lost, don't look at Elianna Wallace. Despite the final result, she had ten digs. Wallace has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played. Kallie Benson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Seymour has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Pleasant Hope, with the win, they broke their four-match losing streak and moved their record to 9-9-3.

Seymour didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Niangua on the 30th. As for Pleasant Hope, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Greenfield on the 29th.
