Football Recap: Central Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Central can now relate to. They lost 22-0 to the Mater Lakes Academy Bears on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 218th, while the Bears are ranked 66th).

Among those leading the charge was Valentina Builes, who threw for 168 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 43 yards. That's the most passing yards she has posted since back in February.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Mater Lakes Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-4.

Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mater Lakes Academy, they will take on TERRA Environmental at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. TERRA Environmental's defense has only allowed 5.2 points per game this season, so Mater Lakes Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
