Volleyball Recap: Falls Lake's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

After a string of seven wins, Falls Lake's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Heritage Huskies by a score of 3-2. The Firebirds were not able to make up for their loss to the Huskies from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Falls Lake started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 16-25, 25-23, 25-21, 16-14.

Sadye Buffaloe paced Falls Lake's offense, picking up 20 kills. Buffaloe got some help from Tess DeZurik and her 44 assists. Mackenzie Hudson controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Heritage was led to victory by Addison Frick and Zoe Townsend. Frick had 11 digs and one assist, while Townsend had five digs and one assist. Paige Baker also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Falls Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Heritage, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-5.

Falls Lake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Vance Charter on the 11th. As for Heritage, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Knightdale on the 11th.
