Baseball Game Preview: Liberty Christian Lions vs. Blue River Valley Vikings

Liberty Christian is 0-5 against Blue River Valley since May of 2015 but things could change on Saturday. The Lions will host the Vikings at 10:00 a.m. Liberty Christian has given up an average of 15 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Liberty Christian is headed into Saturday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Bethesda Christian, falling 17-3.

Liberty Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Judah Shelton, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Blue River Valley hadn't done well against Wes-Del recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Vikings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Warriors. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted against the Warriors since April 13, 2019.

Liberty Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Blue River Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Liberty Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Blue River Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
