Preview: Lausanne Collegiate Lynx vs. Battle Ground Academy Wildcats
The Lausanne Collegiate Lynx will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Battle Ground Academy Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Lausanne Collegiate entered their tilt with University School of Jackson with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Lausanne Collegiate took their contest at home last Friday with ease, bagging a 44-10 victory over University School of Jackson. Given Lausanne Collegiate's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 36th, while University School of Jackson is ranked 133rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was CJ Lowe, who rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. Tj Jenkins was another key contributor, throwing for 104 yards and a touchdown.
Battle Ground Academy fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They claimed a resounding 41-6 victory over Goodpasture Christian at home.
Arnett Hayes was on fire: he rushed for 145 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 51 receiving yards. Hayes' longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. Another player making a difference was Jack Gregg, who rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.
Lausanne Collegiate's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 8-1 Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering and 7-3 Northpoint Christian (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 71.4% over those games). As for Battle Ground Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-5.
Lausanne Collegiate beat Battle Ground Academy 35-28 when the teams last played back in November of 2021. Does Lausanne Collegiate have another victory up their sleeve, or will Battle Ground Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
