Baseball Game Preview: Pennsville Memorial Eagles vs. Eastern Vikings

The Pennsville Memorial Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Eastern Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Eastern will be up against a hot Pennsville Memorial squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. The Eagles walked away with a 12-7 win over Glassboro on Monday.

Cohen Petrutz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Stephen Fatcher was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Burchfield, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Eastern never let their opponents score on Thursday. They put the hurt on Camden Catholic with a sharp 14-0 victory. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Pennsville Memorial pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Eastern, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-5.
