Basketball Recap: Brookfield Comes Up Short

Brookfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt a 65-28 loss at the hands of the Garfield G-Men. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-15.

It was another big night for Mandy Cardinal, who went 12 of 26 en route to 31 points in addition to seven boards and five assists for Garfield. The dominant performance gave Cardinal a new career-high in points. Charlee Hill was another key player, putting up eight points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Brookfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Garfield, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brookfield has already played their next matchup (against Champion), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Garfield is taking a road trip to face off against LaBrae at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. LaBrae will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Garfield surely won't give up without a fight.
