Softball Game Preview: Centennial Golden Hawks vs. Liberty Patriots

The Centennial Golden Hawks will face off against the Liberty Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Centennial will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Centennial saw some tournament action on Monday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over Sanger West.

Alex Andersen was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Ortiz, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Centennial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Liberty lost 12-1 to Frontier last Wednesday. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Centennial, their victory bumped their record up to 13-7.

Centennial skirted past Liberty 2-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Golden Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
