Preview: Phoenix Academy Firebirds vs. Triad Baptist Christian Academy Titans
The Phoenix Academy Firebirds's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Triad Baptist Christian Academy Titans at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. Phoenix Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 547th, while Triad Baptist Christian Academy is ranked 227th).
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought match, but Phoenix Academy had to settle for a 51-49 defeat against Surry HomeSchool.
Despite the loss, Phoenix Academy saw an underclassman step up: Chayse Gallo scored 18 points. It was the first time this season that Gallo scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ervin Montgomery, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Triad Baptist Christian Academy entered their tilt with Faith Christian with ten consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 11. Triad Baptist Christian Academy blew past Faith Christian 78-56. Triad Baptist Christian Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 20 points or more this season.
Phoenix Academy now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Triad Baptist Christian Academy, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-6.
