Shepaug Valley put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 56-52 W against the Thomaston Bears. The 56-point effort marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Shepaug Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but James Kersten led the charge by putting up 17 points along with eight boards and three steals. The match was Kersten's eighth in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reed Woerner, who posted 18 points and five rebounds.

Shepaug Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Shepaug Valley's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-0. As for Thomaston, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-5.
