Recap: Baldwin Highlanders vs. Taylor Allderdice Dragons
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Baldwin Highlanders ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top against Taylor Allderdice by a score of 76-63. The win was all the more spectacular given Baldwin's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 180th, while Taylor Allderdice is ranked 13th).
When it comes to explaining why Taylor Allderdice lost, one person who can't be blamed is Major Rainey. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Rainey also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Pavle Slepcev, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Baldwin and bumps their season record up to 5-2. As for Taylor Allderdice, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 5-2.
Baldwin will finish 2023 at home by hosting Kiski Area at 2:45 p.m. on Friday. Kiski Area is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games. Taylor Allderdice is on the road again on Friday and play against Shady Side Academy at 4:15 p.m. on December 29th.
