Volleyball Recap: Lawrence County Starts Season with Loss on the Road + How To Watch

Lawrence County kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Alexandria Valley Cubs by a score of 2-1. The Red Devils have struggled against the Valley Cubs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Lawrence County started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-22, 15-6.

Their offense was headlined by Lara Anne Norwood and Ava Templeton, who picked up six kills apiece. Templeton also shared the team's lead in assists with Kathryn Dutton: they picked up seven each.

Coincidentally, Lawrence County and Alexandria will both be playing Pleasant Valley the next time they take the court. The Red Devils will head out to face the Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Valley Cubs will play them later in the day, at 6:30 p.m.
