Football Recap: Levelland Comes Up Short

If Levelland was feeling good fresh off their 41-21 takedown of Pecos last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lobos took a 32-13 bruising from the Idalou Wildcats on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lobos of the 33-16 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Levelland lost, don't look at Ethan Salazar. Despite the final result, he threw for 216 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushed for 60 yards on only six carries. 82 of Salazar's passing yards were hauled in by Bryson Golightly, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Levelland now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Idalou, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Levelland didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-0 victory against Brownfield on the 19th. As for Idalou, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 50-0 win against Compass Academy on the 19th.
