Softball Recap: Milford Central Wildcats vs. Cherry Valley-Springfield Patriots
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Windham-Ashland-Jewett, Milford Central was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They never let the Cherry Valley-Springfield Patriots get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. Considering the Wildcats have won three contests by more than 14 runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Brooke Mann was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Mann was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Emma Gannon was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season. Lexi Sutphin was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with four runs and one RBI.
Milford Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .610. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cherry Valley-Springfield only posted an OBP of .250.
