Basketball Game Preview: Palatka Panthers vs. Fernandina Beach Pirates

The Palatka Panthers will take on the Fernandina Beach Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Palatka turned things around against Menendez on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 60-48.

Meanwhile, Fernandina Beach had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.6 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They managed a 47-43 victory over the Panthers. 47 seems to be a good number for the Pirates as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Fernandina Beach is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Palatka, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-15.

Palatka beat Fernandina Beach 67-57 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Will Palatka repeat their success, or does Fernandina Beach have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
