Baseball Recap: Marple Newtown Takes a Loss

Marple Newtown was the 5-2 winner over Strath Haven when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Fightin' Tigers fell 4-1 to the Panthers on Wednesday. The Fightin' Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marple Newtown's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-2. As for Strath Haven, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Marple Newtown will take on rival Lower Merion at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Strath Haven is set to face off against their familiar foe Garnet Valley at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 3.3, the Jaguars 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
