Softball Recap: Douglas Byrd Comes Up Short

Douglas Byrd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 30th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 26-0 to the Cape Fear Colts. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Colts this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 24-0 back in March.

Douglas Byrd's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Cape Fear, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-3.

Douglas Byrd didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 22-0 loss against Lumberton on the 10th. As for Cape Fear, they have also already played their next game, a 17-5 victory against Lee County on the 9th.
