Basketball Game Preview: St. Mary Academy-Bay View Bengals vs. Moses Brown Quakers

St. Mary Academy-Bay View is 2-7 against Moses Brown since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The St. Mary Academy-Bay View Bengals will square off against the Moses Brown Quakers at 6:00 p.m. St. Mary Academy-Bay View is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.8 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, St. Mary Academy-Bay View strolled past Classical with points to spare, taking the game 57-40. The Bengals pushed the score to 48-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Purple cut but never quite recovered from.

Qiana Sumner was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion Clarke-Heath, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 10 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Moses Brown put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 49-29 margin over Portsmouth. The 49-point effort marked the Quakers' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Moses Brown pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.5 points. As for St. Mary Academy-Bay View, their record is now 7-1.

St. Mary Academy-Bay View took their victory against Moses Brown in their previous matchup back in February of 2021 by a conclusive 60-35. Does St. Mary Academy-Bay View have another victory up their sleeve, or will Moses Brown turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
