The Washington Rams will head out to face off against the Copper Canyon Aztecs at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Washington has given up an average of 7.7 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Washington lost 15-9 to Independence on Thursday. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Liam Bunstein made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Troy Kenyon also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Copper Canyon). They were the clear victors by a 20-1 margin over Sierra Linda on Thursday. The Aztecs haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Max Torres Felix was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Torres Felix was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, Anthony Acosta Livas was a standout: he scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dariany Flores, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Copper Canyon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in six consecutive matches.
Copper Canyon pushed their record up to 7-4-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.7 runs over those games. As for Washington, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Washington has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Copper Canyon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Washington might still be hurting after the 10-1 loss they got from Copper Canyon when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
