Recap: De Soto Wildcats vs. Basehor-Linwood Bobcats
The De Soto Wildcats had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 41.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They blew past Basehor-Linwood 48-21 at home. The result was nothing new for De Soto, who have now won seven contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead De Soto to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bennett Hutchison, who rushed for 219 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Hutchison was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Parks, who rushed for 82 yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Basehor-Linwood still got an impressive performance from Brady Vandonge, who threw for 247 yards and two touchdowns.
De Soto's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1. As for Basehor-Linwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. De Soto will take on Turner at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Turner is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Basehor-Linwood, they will be playing at home against Paola at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
