Softball Game Preview: Arroyo Grande Eagles vs. Righetti Warriors

The Arroyo Grande Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Righetti Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Arroyo Grande came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against St. Joseph, falling 7-1. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Adelana Rodriguez (2026) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Arroyo Grande saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaedyn Valdez (2025), who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Righetti made sure to put some runs up on the board against Cabrillo on Wednesday. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Conquistadores. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Natalia Cervantes was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ember Hendricks, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Righetti's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Arroyo Grande, their loss dropped their record down to 7-16.
