Volleyball Recap: St. Petersburg Takes a Loss

St. Petersburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Braden River Pirates.

Abigail Buffington paced St. Petersburg's offense, picking up nine kills. Buffington got some help from Annika Xenakis and her 22 assists. Buffington was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

St. Petersburg's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Braden River, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-3.

St. Petersburg didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Lake Region on the 12th. As for Braden River, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Auburndale on the 12th.
