Volleyball Game Preview: McCutcheon Mavericks vs. Angola Hornets

The McCutcheon Mavericks will head out on the road to take on the Angola Hornets at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. McCutcheon is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

On Thursday, McCutcheon came up short against Benton Central and fell 3-1.

The final score came out to 25-12, 23-25, 25-20, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Angola made easy work of Churubusco on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Angola took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-11, 25-14.

Angola's win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for McCutcheon, their loss dropped their record down to 10-14.

McCutcheon might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Angola in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Mavericks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
