Baseball Game Preview: Palmyra-Macedon Red Raiders vs. East Eagles

The Palmyra-Macedon Red Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the East Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Palmyra-Macedon is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

On Monday, Palmyra-Macedon got the win against Geneva by a conclusive 14-1. Considering the Red Raiders have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Tino LoPresto made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Camron Quick, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Everts, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Palmyra-Macedon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Livonia hit East with a four-run first inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 7-5. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Palmyra-Macedon's record is now 13-4. As for East, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.

Palmyra-Macedon couldn't quite get it done against East when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 6-1. Can the Red Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
